One figure from this era that I have become particularly interested in is Rudolph Valentino. I have seen several of his films and have enjoyed them for the most part. As a result, I hoped Cobra would be good. However, I was left feeling underwhelmed by it. Cobra is a film that have several good ideas, but it just doesn't know what to do with them. The film follows Count Rodrigo Torriani, an impoverished Italian nobleman. He is a charming libertine, his weakness is…. I've really been into silent films, lately.

Seeing the stars of more than years ago and comparing them to now is fun. I've seen Rudolph Valentino before, and I get the appeal. He comes across rather charming on screen. The story this film told seems pretty typical for the time.

A ladies' man realizes the error of his ways and changes his lifestyle. Pretty standard, in my opinion, but the ending wasn't what I expected, so that's a plus.
